Are PIV systems noisy and expensive to run?

No is the short answer - The PIV units installed by Attic Alert have extremely low noise levels (as low as 9dB(A). So quiet you'll never hear them in almost any circumstances. Old criticisms of the systems pointed to hearing vibration through the loft boarding in the quiet of the night. Our units have state of the art 'anti vibration feet' to deal with this, or they  can also be hung from a suitable rafter in your loft with no contact to your loft boarding floor at all. With an average cost of electricity in the UK currently around 34p per kW hour (March 2023) we calculate running costs for our most popular heated model of £0.03 per day. £0.87 per month, or less than £10.50 for an entire year.
