To fully utilize your new loft storage space it's essential that access through your hatch is safe, easy to use and well insulated. Our priority is to ensure you can open and close your hatch while standing safely on the floor using a simple pole mechanism. No more unstable step ladders, chairs or steps. We offer a range of modern pvc hatches which can be retro-fitted into the vast majority of properties. It’s a seamless changeover for you as a customer – we do all the tricky stuff.
You’ll not only greatly improve your loft access but also the aesthetic. No more painting, just a quick wipe down will keep them looking in great condition.
In older properties there are often constraints to what can be achieved practically. Sometimes the visual impact of a pvc hatch will clash, sometimes other issues relating to space, structural integrity or obstructions may mean that the only viable option is to fit a hand made casement to suit your specific requirements.
Typically, bespoke casements will be framed with a wooden Torus or Ogee architrave to help blend in with the age of your property.
Wooden casements and trap doors are left finished in a white base coat for you to apply the gloss colour of your choice.
In the vast majority of cases in older properties the most cost effective option to making your loft access safe is for us to make you a new ‘swing down’ hinged trap door coupled with one of our loft ladders. As long as your hatch opening needs no re-sizing - a new bespoke ‘MDF’ swing down trap door, piano hinged, with insulation, draught excluder and a
simple to operate catch is yours for only £99.00.
Ordered with our 3 section aluminium loft ladder with fitted handrail, this Safe Access package of ladder and hinged trap door is available for £269.00
If your hatch is too small for practical use or poorly located we can deal with that for you. We can re-size existing openings or create new access in a more convenient location. We can do this in any type of ceiling material, from modern plaster board to Victorian lath and plaster.
Thank you for the lovely job in the loft. Particular thanks for keeping disruption in the house to such a minimum and leaving everything so clean and tidy, much appreciated.
The attic looks fantastic, thank you for such a brilliant job. Just a shame you only do loft work as otherwise I’d get you to do all the work on my house!
Thank you for the great job on our loft. I’d happily recommend you to friends and family. I really like that you have all your prices set out on a price list, it made me feel that you were treating us fairly from the outset… it doesn’t always feel that way with other trades!!! You left everything so neat and tidy too. Thanks again.
Hi Jeff, wanted to quickly thank you for the recent work you carried out at our property, the extra storage that the removal of the header tank platform and fitting of shelving has given us is perfect. The fitting of the loft ladder, particularly in what was a rather precarious location and the installation of boarded flooring has made access to the loft much safer and more convenient. Your professional manner, very reasonable pricing and quality workmanship leaves no doubt in my mind that I will be recommending your services to friends and family.
We offer a waste removal service should your loft be full of any unwanted items, and can price for this at survey. Attic Alert will, of course, dispose of all our material waste created as a result of the work being carried out. However, please note that this does not include any old doors, boards or random pieces of timber already residing in your loft!
We are an Environment Agency registered waste carrier.
